This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. The first two sections are the ones that matter most here, because this tool produces documents that get made into physical goods in quantity.
01Do not use this to copy someone else's product
Do not use Flatspec to reverse-engineer, replicate or reproduce another company’s garment. Specifically, do not:
- Upload photographs of a branded product and ask for a specification that reproduces it.
- Measure a competitor’s garment and use this service to turn those measurements into a document for making the same thing.
- Ask for a design “in the style of” a named brand, designer or collection. Prompts containing brand names are blocked.
- Recreate a trade mark, a registered design, a signature pattern, or any element that identifies another business.
Taking inspiration from what exists is how clothing has always worked, and a shirt is not owned by anyone. Reproducing a specific product, or anything that identifies its maker, is a different thing and is not permitted here. Accounts used for it are closed without refund.
02Only upload what you have the rights to
When you upload a reference image, artwork, print or sketch you are confirming that you own it or are licensed to use it for this purpose. We record that confirmation with the upload. Do not upload:
- Artwork, prints or illustrations made by someone else without a licence covering commercial garment production.
- Photographs you did not take and are not licensed to use.
- A previous employer’s or client’s designs that you do not have the right to reuse.
- Anything under an NDA that does not permit processing by a third party service.
03Artwork we will not generate
Generated prints and patterns end up printed on production runs, so the consequence of an infringing motif is a warehouse full of stock that cannot be sold. We block, and you must not attempt to produce:
- Registered trade marks, logos, brand names and signature patterns — including checks, monograms and other marks that identify a house.
- Characters or recognisable features from animation, film, games or comics.
- Club crests, league marks, competition names and kit identifiers.
- Portraits of real people, living or dead, and likenesses of public figures.
- Flags, coats of arms, government, police and military insignia.
- Religious iconography and scripture.
- Indigenous and tribal patterns of cultural significance.
- Paintings, photographs, illustrations and typefaces still in copyright.
Generated artwork is recorded as generated with its parameters kept, so its origin can be evidenced later. If you believe something produced here infringes your rights, use the infringement report form — we take it down first and investigate afterwards.
04General prohibitions
- Anything unlawful, or that helps someone else break the law.
- Harassment, threats, defamation, or content targeting a person or a group.
- Anything sexualising or endangering a minor. This is reported to the relevant authorities without exception.
- Specifications for garments intended to conceal weapons, contraband or stolen goods.
- Presenting output as certified, tested or independently verified when it is not.
- Impersonating Flatspec, its staff, or another business.
05Platform abuse
- Working around plan limits, rate limits or access controls, including through multiple accounts.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or reselling access.
- Automated traffic beyond documented interfaces.
- Uploading malware, or attempting to reach data belonging to another account.
06What happens if you breach this
Depending on severity: removal of the material, a warning, suspension, or closure of the account without refund. Serious matters — child safety, credible threats — are reported to the authorities. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we send and a person will look at it. Report abuse to support@orasci.shop.
